I successfully acquired a 1 month visa to travel to Iran on a Canadian passport back in April 2002 from the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada. I would like to return to Iran in either fall 08 or spring 09 but this time would be acquiring a double entry visa (to visit Herat, Afghanistan for a few days and return to Iran). Has anyone (Canadian passport holders in particular) managed to obtain a double entry 1 month visa from the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa. As well, what is the latest with Canadian passport holders obtaining a visa to Iran these days.

Double-entry visa for Canadians? I have recently found out know there is for countries like Finland but I am not sure about Canada. There was this young canadian guy I came to know last year who had been refused visa in Ottawa (in 2006?) but was granted visa very quickly in Cairo the following year! I do not believe there are many Candians coming to Iran. I would recommend you also post your question on http://www.virtualtourist.com/

It took me 4 weeks of waiting to get my single-entry tourist visa. No issues except that they called me at my work number to verify my information.
