Has anyone purchased domestic air tix lately? The price we were quoted for having an agency buy our internal tickets seemed really high. Is it possible to buy a ticket from Tehran to Tabriz and back about 3 days in advance and then a Shiraz to Tehran ticket 3 weeks in advance, once we are in Tehran? Thanks.

Tehran-Tabriz (one-way): 322,000 Rls. apprx. 35 USD
Shiraz-Tehran (one-way): 395,000 Rls. apprx. 43 USD

It is possible, however you might find that 3 days is a bit short, i.e. the flights might be booked, especially if you're travelling on a weekend or a holiday.
Iran Air offices overseas usually sell domestic tickets at official Iranian prices as well, so if you have one near you, you might consider buying them there.(although I have heard that some supossedly only do so in conjunction with an overseas Iran Air ticket).

tickets were so easy to book. I was there in Iran in Jan, tickets run approx 30-40 like Aliamiri said.

Yes, you can. Tickets on domestic flights however, if i remember correctly, must be paid for immediately upon making a reservation or.. with few hours the latest! Just go to travel agency in Tehran when you are here.

Yes george...your are right. I went last week to an Iran branch and they told me I can only book a domestic flight if I am flying to Iran with Iran Air.

I just did two days ago and there was no problem. Go north from Ferdosi square and you will find many travel agents. Do not go to Iran air office becasue you can wait there up to 2 hours to get your number and then to talk to agent. Go directly to "private" agencies.
We paid in USD and we got fair price.
