We will be crossing into Iran from Armenia - what is the best way to get to Tabriz from Norduz?
Is it easy to change sterling at most places in Iran?
Thanks

Hi
At first you should take a taxi fom Norduz to Jolfa. you can get a train or bus to Tabriz from Jolfa.

From Meghri/Armenia you take a taxi (2000 AMD) to the border-post on the Armenian side. Then you walk to the Iranian Immigration. Once finished, there will be some taxis waiting just outside the building. Last week they charged me 300000 IRR till Jolfa (takes about 45-60 minutes). Tell the driver that you want to go to Tabriz - he will drop you at the right place in Jolfa to get a share-taxi to Tabriz.
The other option is to try to hitchhike from the border in Norduz till Jolfa. But it is not a popular border crossing. Not a single other person (or a car/truck for that matter) crossed into Iran when I was there. So it could mean some waiting time...
Within the immigration building (Iranian side) there is an exchange office with not even such bad rates. You can exchange your drams there. Sterlings seem to be accepted in many places.

Hi
For getting to Tabriz, the other members replied.
But I think sterling will be difficult. If they change it, it will be lower rate.
