Hi guys!
Do you know if there is a bus from IKA airport to city?
I find conflicting info on the internet, for both yes and no...
Hotels always say there is no bus, and offer a pick up service, about 25$...
If you have experience on that, or any other info (time schedule, cost) please do drop a line here!!
many thanks!!
Nikolas

I came here looking for the same info. I see in many websites that there are shuttles and buses but cant find detailed info. An Iranian contact of mine says it has to be taxi. He even called the airport info center and the fellows confirmed but my instinct still says there most be an alternative.

Hi , there isnt any bus with a schedule , actually you should rent a private car it costs near to 20$ , not more !

but i suggest you to find a partner or (foreign Iranian ) and share with them , i think you can find it easy , people are so kind with travelers in Iran .

Enjoy your trip

So the bus mentioned in the article I placed up there doesn't exist anymore?

" it is possible to get into Tehran by public transport for 20,000 IRR (instead of taxi for 150000)- take the shuttle bus from right outside arrivals to Mehrebad airport (signed in English to Azadi Square) and asked to be dropped off the haram-e motahar or shohada metro stops."

I read about these buses in different sources in the internet.

If you come from out side of country you land in IKA , not i Mehrabad airport (its for domestic flights) for gonig from city to airport if you do the public transfer as you said you should carry your luggage maybe 25minutes by walk from the main road to airport , in IKA airport you cant find any public transfer , you should Rent a Taxi , but its not 1500000 IRR , Its 600000-750000IRR(at most), and you should pay it in Rial not USD .

As written, there are or there were buses connecting IKA and Mehrabad, and those buses stop in a couple of metro stations. I am looking for accurate information about this situation.

Oh thanks! Bad news then. That's terrible :-) I really don't like taxis, not to mention that they cost much money :-( Thanks anyway for your effort. Much appreciated.

hi guys, sorry I missed the answers while travelling
well, my experience was that in the middle of the night the only solution was taxi, so my hotel arranged for 25$, a bit expensive.
On the way back, the same hotel arranged a taxi for 50.000 toman (from central area), which is a very good price.
I asked around and there is a consensus that there are cheaper taxis from the nearest subway station, probably even shared taxis, or a kind of minibuses too (just was told so, didn't go there as it was night). It's better to try that only at daylight, and even better if you speak persian language to negotiate.
Keep in mind that taxi drivers regard you as the stupid victim and always charge you far more than they should. This was almost the only bad behavior I experienced in Iran.
Taxi drivers really give a very wrong impression for Iran people, since the 99,9% are great, warm, sincere people
