Hi,
Death by holiday snaps is a painful torture, when people feel the need to show you far too many photos about their adventures.
Well I think I have got round that here with a whizz round 60 countries and 5 continents in just three minutes. High tempo music and beautiful pics: you'll be back out on the road again soon!
Enjoy...
Al

So I'm looking to crew on a boat headed from New Zealand to Australia, but was wondering how long that passage usually takes, or if there is a usually? I suppose it depends on the ship and conditions, but any rough ideas? Or any other advise for a fellow planning to walk the docks and hang out in the sea front bars hoping to join a ship going that way? BTW, if you are going that way, I am available any time after the 4th of March.

I've been browsing around in these forums for a while, and I'm really interested in exiting my little world for a while and going on an ocean stint, but I have no experience or background in this kind of thing. I have some travel experience, but nothing really out there, and zero boat experience beyond kayaking and taking the ferry to Vancouver Island.
If I want to be serious about this, what do I need to know or have in order to be part of a crew? Do I need certification in anything (I've seen…

Hey, I've sailed with a friend around the Bahamas for 2 months this past spring in the Beanetau 473. Now he is sailing around the Caribe for a month before heading to Spain (from Antigua via Bermuda & The Azores), then spending 3 months sailing around the Med.
Has anyone sailed the Atlantic (3 weeks)? How bruttle is it?
What are the must see's in the Med? Obviously we are going to hit Italy, Greece and Croatia, but anything else a must??

I see a lot of posts from people looking to crew on a boat.

A few months ago, I was in the same position. Had been sailing for years, and looked for a boat to crew on.

I found a number of good websites specialized in matching available crew with open crewing positions. They also let me post my resumee so boat owners could contact me. All of them were for free:

Hi there,
My husband and I (both 27yr) are just beginning to look at ways to get back to NZ, and would like to travel by sea (or at least not by air). We are thinking maybe aboard a freighter, or some other way that is either relatively cheap or where we can work for our passage. Neither of us has any experience at all, but we are keen! We have no time limits, and can happily find our way to ports in Europe or home from Aussie. We would prefer not to travel by air, just to try something new…

Has anyone been on the "Encounter with Ancient Times" shore excursion in Acapulco with Princess Cruises? This is the one with a 3.5 ride to Xochicalco and the Pyramid of Quetzacoatl. My husband really wants to go on it but tends to get sick on buses. If it's a nice Greyhound-like, air-conditioned bus, he'll probably be fine. But if it's a crappy little bumpy local tour bus, he will likely get sick. Just wondering if anyone knows what we'll be in for?

Thanks in advance...
