Hi,

I should /maybe/hope to be in NZ (better than Oz for sailing??) some time in 2008 and wanted the following questions answered.

1, Is it easy to get a job on a boat with not allot of experience from NZ, i guess with no pay just cabin (room) and board and sailing on a ship/boat round some of the Pacific islands for a week or two?

2, Does any one know if its possible to either pay for a journey across the pacific say from NZ to Chile or work on a boat, and how long this would take, and if I had…

Single female, writer, 50s, seeks crew to live aboard and for occasional day sails on a comfortable 32-foot sailboat. Private cabin. The boat is in a modern, full facility marina (showers, laundry, WiFi) and close to town, buses etc. This is the best time for hiking and exploring the island. Mature, quiet, non-smoking. Shared expenses. www.seagypsywoman.blogspot.com; seagypsywoman at yahoo.ca

New York, to Plymouth UK under sail, in late April, obviously under a good weather window. I'm thinking 21-28 days in a reasonably quick 38 footer. Is this a sensible timeframe?

Hi,

A while back I sent out my CV to a few cruise lines in the slim hope I may get an interview. I today recieved a phonecall asking if I'd like to attend an interview in Southampton. I have done some research on the expected life on-board, but was wandering if anyone out there has any first-hand experience of working on board & / or any advice they can offer. More specifically I am interested to hear from anyone who has worked on Princess Cruises. Interview tips would also be gratefully…

Hi everyone! It looks like we are going to do another Caribbean voyage this winter. Some of you might remember our posts winter of 2005-2006 as our family sailed our boat down through the Caribbean from Martinique to South America. Had lots of cool times sailing, snorkeling, jamming on guitars, fishing & BBQing with travelers who hopped aboard for some of the adventure with us. Well, we finally ran out of dough and are back on terra firma once again slaving and saving up for the next leg of the…

About 6 months ago some friends of mine bought into some package that supposedly guarantees free or reduced hotel stays/cruises/what have you for your entire extended family for life. I can't remember all the details. Unfortunately they always seem to fall for these things and I'm sick of trying to explain that if something seems to good to be true, it probably isn't, but that's another story.

Anyways. This morning she said that they're taking a cruise from Florida to Hawaii at the end of…

I've posted a message on the companion forum.
I thought someone here might like to share a one way 21 day cruise to Buenos Aires. leaves on 12/20/07 so you'll be onboard for Christmas and New Years. After the cruise we go our seperate ways or have a look around BA and Chile.
The cost of the trip is $1507. no air and there would be around $10.00 perday in tips added to your bill.
I'm from Rhode Island USA 60 ns,no drugs. However a cold beer or two is good for your health !

Hey all, I'm doing a round the world trip next year- doing South America and onto Europe- and am hoping to stop off in Antibes (South of France) to get some work aboard a luxury yacht for about 3 months as I hear it's very good pay and I will definitley be needing some income by then! I'm aware that I'd have to do a certificate (the SCTW95) and hoping to do that when I arrive there. I am expecting to get to Antibes in April or May. Is there anyone who has had this experience or knows information…

I have about 3 weeks to do this trip, and I'm looking to do it as cheap as possible. I know this is pretty broad, but does anyone have any advice? I'm willing to completely sacrifice comfort and work, though I should mention i have no experience doing anything useful, just a worthless college degree. anything, even pointing me in the right direction, would be useful. planes, trains, buses, boats, whatever.
