Hi all,
In late march 2008, I am hoping to travel from Spain to Central america but the only catch is, that I want to do it by sea. Am travelling on a strict budget and would prefer to avoid travelling by air (my mission) as its too easy and air travel is not exactly the most envirnmental method. And besides, someone told me that the only way to arrive at a distant land is by sea!! I was hoping to crew a boat in Gibraltar or somewhere across and am just wondering if this is a feasible idea or…

Hello to all. I am a writer who is currently involved in a project that involves a bit of sailing. In trying to be historically accurate, I am attempting to find out approximately how long it would take to sail from North America to the Caribbean--from the Caribbean to the UK--and from North America to the UK. ANY information that anyone might post here in an attempt to help me out with these questions would be more than greatly appreciated!! :o)

Thanks so much,
Tracy

Does anyone know any available positions for a 24 year old male with Master 4 Trading ticket (500T)+STCW95, and a position for a 19 year old female who is well experienced in the offshore charter industry.
We are both willing to work in any position on board a mega yacht, and are very keen to travel and do the hard yards.
We are currently in Western Australia and are looking to move where ever the work may be at the end of December.
If you are interested or know anyone who is, please email me on…

I have never sailed before for more than a week. I am pretty excited, but not have much experience. I can't talk to my friends neither since they are in a boat with poor communication. So, any advice, book, web, information…

Hello,

I spent three weeks exploring Thailand last winter and will return on Nov 14 th for a minimum of a month. I plan to explore the islands. I am an avid sailor and may buy a power boat and make Thailand a future winter retreat if I like what I see. I retired as a commercial pilot about 7 years ago and have spent a great deal of time sailing in different parts of the world since. I call BC home.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to how a solo traveller can explore the…
