Hi,
I did a trip through Central America earlier this year, and have decided with my partner that we are going to Guatemala for our honeymoon in November 2008. we're going to be flying into Cancun and moving onto Guatemala from there, and while I know that we could hire a boat and crew in Cancun to sail down to Guatemala with, I was wondering if anyone knew how much that would cost, or if there were regular services from Cancun to either Livingston or Puerto Barrios?
Thanks for you help
I'm looking for professional employment on Australian or International research or supply ships that are not carrying environmentally damaging cargo. Also interested in work as a watch officer on a cruise ship. I have quals and plenty of seatime and have registered and applied through normal channels. Does anyone have any creative or lateral ideas to secure long term employment?
Has anyone actually achieved this one? We all know about the book Peter Moore wrote and fact it is the Indonesia - Aussie stretch that is the kicker but has anyone done this and lived to tell the tale?
I am considering doing this next year, perhaps taking a train all the way to Vietnam and then working down SE Asia and attempting the Indo Aussie stretch.
Any hints or tips?
I'm looking for help in locating a missing Canadian couple, Courtenay Steele and Chris Malchow, both from British Columbia. In 2006 they left Canada for New Zealand where they lived and travelled until late spring of this year. (Both worked in Russell for some time.) In the late spring, they purchased a 9m sail boat in order to sail from NZ home to Victoria, BC. Although Courtenay was new to sailing, Chris was a very experienced and competent sailor.

My wife wants to take a week-long cruise around March, and the Caribbean (unsure yet whether western or eastern part) looks most feasible for us. I am not completely thrilled with the idea, due to a propensity for sea sickness (though I have not been on a large ship) and an idea I would not like the crowds and organized activities or some lines, but am willing to go along with her idea. She has already said she does not want to take a Carnival line cruise, due to a bad experience a friend had…
Adventure of a lifetime beginning February 2008! Sailing to sandy atolls immersed in the middle of the Pacific, where "off the beaten track" is a gross understatement. Boat will depart Solomon Islands on January 7th to arrive in Chuuk early February, then on to Yap and Palau atoll-hopping all the way to eventual arrival in Philippines April/May 2008. Daring adventurers desiring a taste of life at sea while plunged into some of the most untouched environments on earth wanted. Minimal daily…
Hoping to find a cruise ship we can take either from Brazil (preferably Fortaleza, where we live but would consider other ports) to the U.S., or one-way U.S. to Brazil. Did see a Princess Cruise going from Ft. Lauderdale to Fortaleza, then on to Senegal and Italy, but Princess folks said the price would be the same for Ft. Lauderdale-Fortaleza (about 5 or 6 days) as for the entire 20-day cruise to Italy. Any ideas? Thanks!
Could anyone tell me if it is possible to catch a frieght ship from either Thailand or Indonesia into India?
How much would this cost, more than an airfare?
We are thinking of maybe taking a year off and sailing around Australia and the South Pacific but we have 2 dogs just wanting to know if anyone is sailing with animals and know if it is to hard - I know coming home will be a hassle into OZ but just wondering in other places....
