Hi, I am currently travelling in Central America and would like to get my STCW95 certificate. If anyone has any information about where in Central America (or places reasonably close flying distance to C.A) it is possible to take the course and any additional info such as prices, reputability, companies, websites or even any advice on finding a job in the area once I¨ve completed the course I{d really appreciate it.

I flew from belize to miami to complete my STCW in Fort lauderdale. It cost $900. From there you may be able to pick up a yacht heading over to the med for the season. The yachting season is generally in the med this time of year and it will definitely be cheaper in america than what it is in the med. If you are only doing it for the certificate rather than the training then I think you can do it cheaper but at the end of the day it is worth getting the knowledge. You never know what could happen.
You may be best logging on to a crew agency website and emailing them for suggestions.
