Is there still a lot of political unrest in Oaxaca? Is it serious enough to consider avoiding the area? If not, are there any towns or areas of towns I should avoid?

I just got back last night from traveling 10 days in Oaxaca. We spent 5 days in the mtns. and 5 days on the beach.
It was totally safe!!
The people are hurting for tourists to come back and spend money. Everyone was super nice and glad to see us (two gringos from New England).
Great food, weather, hiking and surf!
