| petercasier19:40 UTC18 Feb 2007 | I see a lot of posts from people looking to crew on a boat.
A few months ago, I was in the same position. Had been sailing for years, and looked for a boat to crew on.
I found a number of good websites specialized in matching available crew with open crewing positions. They also let me post my resumee so boat owners could contact me. All of them were for free:
http://forums.challengebusiness.com/index.php (forum site for the ARC - the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) https://www.findacrew.net/
http://www.crewfile.com/
http://www.cruiserlog.com/forums/

In no time, I had plenty of responses. People looking for extra crew on longer passages, just random cruisers looking for company or extra hands, etc..
In the end, I enlisted for a delivery trip of a 57ft sailboat from the UK->Canaries->StLucia->British Virgin Islands. Two months. An experience never to forget. A couple of shortstories written during this trip, you can find in: The Road to the Horizon -> look for the shortstories 'Logs of a TransAtlantic crossing... )
Enjoy and happy sailing!

Great to see someone with sailing experience who might pop up with useful info. Love the blogs, 7knots is another good 'crew wanted' site, have to learn Dutch for the info on Tarawa! Sail and travel safely.
