Ok so I know this is a bit mainstream, but just doing a bit of research for family member who is thinking of going on a cruise for the first time. What cruise liner has the best reputation or would you recommend for a first timer? We have been told Carnival cruises are good? has anyone been on a carnival cruise or any other brand owned by Carnival? What is the general consensus. Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated

However, I would advise them to explore more independant options of spending this much money. You know, to look beyond the daily advertising in their home paper. I don't suppose they'll care though.
