Creative ideas for professional employment?

I'm looking for professional employment on Australian or International research or supply ships that are not carrying environmentally damaging cargo. Also interested in work as a watch officer on a cruise ship. I have quals and plenty of seatime and have registered and applied through normal channels. Does anyone have any creative or lateral ideas to secure long term employment?
