We are looking into a cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso. It does visit Cape Horn though not sure if it goes 'round the Horn or through the Straits of Magellan. Any idea how rough the seas might be? This would be at the beginning of April. Ship is quite big (100 tons). Thanks.

It could be easy. There isn't great advanced advice. Ship has sails or engines?

A ship that is "quite big" should be at least 35000DWT!

Going around the Horn in a ship of 100tons in April, against the wind, is not really an amateur operation. I do hope that you made it safely!

Billie, I sort of assumed at 100t was a yacht. It could be hairy in a 4000t OSV, they roll like pigs. A nice 4000+ TEU container ship would be fine, or a decent sized tanker. I think people have different ideas about big ships
