Hello there,
I am currently in Tehran living my dream (with very little oxygen to breath :-) to travel overland from Istanbul to the far East. Problem for the moment seems to be Pakistan and, maybe even more so, crossing the Iranian - Pakistani border. Unless anybody can convince me, I will probably leave out Pakistan (and Afghanistan) this time. However, I would like to avoid taking the plane so I am looking for alternatives. Unfortunately the Northern route through the 'Stans' is no option (long story...). Is anybody aware of any other alternatives? I have been thinking of taking a sea route. There seem to be ferries from Iran (Bandar-e-Abbas) to Dubai, but nobody can give me reliable information or tell me if I can get from Dubai to India at all (or, even better, directly from Iran to India). It would be great if you could help me out!! As I am moving on soon, I am even more grateful for quick answers ;-)
Cheers from Tehran,
WtW.
