Hi All - We are taking our two children aged 5 & 7 to Moscow this summer to visit family and want to do a side trip somewhere in Europe - possibly Istanbul, while we are over there from the US. I am looking for suggestions on places that are family friendly, not too expensive and interesting for kids. I know this is pretty vague but we really don't know where to begin, only that we want to take advantage of already being in Europe and going somewhere fun for the kids after Moscow. Thanks for…

We have two children aged 2 and 6, both girls. We live in eastern Canada, and we are looking for a neat travel destination for spring. I am interested in something that would satisfy all of us, and it gets a bit tricky because our children are kind of far apart in age and have different interests. We are not really the all-inclusive/cruise kind of people (not that there's anything wrong with that!), and although we have done Disney with the older child, not wanting to go there this time (at…

My husband and I would like to take our 1.5 and 4 year olds someplace in late December/early January. We'd prefer someplace warm (or not too cold) and reachable by a relatively short flight from Washington DC (around 4 hours or less). We were thinking someplace in the Caribbean or Central America. We aren't interested in large resorts, but would like someplace that's family friendly and not too hard to reach. Any ideas?

Hi,

My husband, 4-year old son and I are planning to go on a 4-week holiday to Mexico OR Brazil (somewhere between the end of February and May).
Does anyone have been to those countries and what do you recommend (how easy are both countries to travel by public transport, what's nicer for kids) ? We have travelled quiet a lot before (also with our son), but never been to South-America (been to Costa Rica and Nicaragua) and don't speak Spanish.
Thank you very much!
Maya

Just wondering if anyone has been to Patagonia in Chile with or without a baby and could comment in whether it would be ok to travel there with a 6 month old. We would be going in February / March for about 12 days and hope to do some hiking while we're there. I'm also wondering how you travel with a baby and tour around their nap schedules.

Thanks

Hello community.
I have recently become a father but still yearn for more holidays/travel. So now its about where we all can go.
I had really wanted to visit Sri Lanka prior to children and think it would be an ideal holiday for us parents and our daughter.
I have been reading a few posts from some time ago now and just wanted some advice about whether taking a 1 year old on a far flung trip (for 2 weeks) is safe and not just me being selfish wanting a nice holiday. Understandably waiting a few…

Hi there, I am planning to go on a free and easy vacation to Korea with my 3/1/2 year old next June. I was told by a friend that Korea is not a very suitable place to bring the young ones. So I am wondering if anyone here had experienced going to Korea (free and easy) with young kids? Also, is it worth making a trip to Jeju with the little child? Is the teddy bear museum still there or is there a similar museum at Seoul?

Thanks!

We will be in Geneva for 2 days at the end of December and wondering what the best area of the city is best to stay in. i.e. Left Bank vs Right Bank?

It will be myself, husband and two kids ages 6 and 8. We are looking for somewhere central that is accessible to sites and restaurants on foot or by public transport.

Any specific recommendations for hotels would be welcome as well. We are hoping to keep it under $250/night for the 4 of us. A couple options that look good are the Hotel Auteuil…

My husband and I are planning to go abroad during our parental leave. We plan on going 2 months in February-March 2014, and our child will then be 8-10 months.

Part of the trip will be to visit my husband's family, so our destination is (almost) fixed. We consider the "cheap" countries in Central America. I'm familiar with Guatemala and Cuba as I lived 2 years in each place, but I have never been to neither Nicaragua nor Honduras.

Planned itinerary:
- Guatemala (base in Antigua), 1-2 weeks.
-…
