Hi all

We are going to Sri Lanka for 3 weeks in April. I was hoping to do Horton Plains/Worlds End but am now thinking I was being optimistic thinking my 7 year old daughter will walk for the 4-5 hours I have read it takes. Does anyone have any advice on how easy or hard the trail is? Also, if we were to decide to do some of the walks around Ella instead, how do they compare for scenery, or is Worlds End a 'must see'?

Would love some words of experience.

Thanks

LM

Hey everyone... my friend and I will be traveling by rented car around Nicaragua and Honduras next month. This is our 2nd trip to the area but this time, we will be with a 2 year old. We'll mostly stay in Leon, San Juan del Sur and on Roatan island. Any recommendations on the best kids areas / safe, gentle tide, low slope beaches / parks / activities in those areas?

Also, any general advice?

Thanks so much!

hi there -
we are going to be in europe in may with our two young boys - ages 5 and 3.
we will spend 4 days in amsterdam, then 6 days in the south of france, then 4 days in barcelona.

i would love some recommendations on where to stay in the south of france - we are initially thinking in the avignon area, but i'm open to suggestions!
we have spent time in beaune and also the chateauneuf-du-pape region, so we'd love to explore a new area.

since we'll be in cities on the front and back end, we'd…

Planning a trip for one adult and 2 twelve year old boys the 2nd week of March...all active people. We're thinking about Louisiana as we could drive there from central TX. Anyone know of interesting out of the way places on islands or bayou areas? Any activity ideas appreciated too. Thanks!

My husband and I are contemplating a trip to Northern India with our 8 yr. old and are looking for tips and suggestions.
Both of us have been there multiple times ourselves but would be the first for our child.
Main concerns are for her health. I know the malaria prescriptions are recommended by the CDC,
though we have never taken them. We prefer to keep things as natural as possible. She is up to date
on all other immunizations minus typhoid.

Many thanks

Hi all - we are travelling for 2 1/2 weeks in turkey with our 2 year old daughter at the end of April/beginning of May and trying to decide what carrying system to bring.

We just arrived home from Arizona and wished we brought our stroller - she was really unhappy in the backpack carriers we had - a Phil and teds escape and a beco both of which she used to love.

She loves the jogging stroller but a)it is kind of bulky and b)just not sure if it is useful in Turkey or even would be a…

Hello,

We're just back from two awesome weeks in and around Tulum, Mexico with our kids. This was our second time there, and we think it's a fantastic destination for families. Thinking of booking ahead again for next year -- apparently the place we've stayed both years is already getting inquiries re: "our" week, and the owner wanted to give us first crack at it. Trying to decide if we should stick with Tulum, or go somewhere different next year. This is what we love about Tulum:

1) Easy…

Finally, TT is back up, and just in time for our upcoming trip! We'll be spending 3 weeks on Ko Samui in March/April with our 3-year old son and I'm researching fun things to do for him while we're there. This will be our 7th trip to Thailand and we've been to Samui last year as well, but he was only (just) 2 then and we didn't do much besides go to the beach. I've already found a waterpark, which seems like something he'd enjoy for 2 hours or so. Anything else that could be fun for him to do…

My family is taking a week's vacation in Madrid in March, likely with day trips to Segovia and Toledo (though if anyone has other suggestions, I'm all ears!). My children are 3 1/2 and 4 1/2. Last year we did our first international trip with them to Iceland in the winter, and it was wonderful!

My debate this year is whether to take the stroller, and if so, which one. I have a double (Baby Jogger City Micro) and a single (Maclaren umbrella type). They haven't used the stroller much in the…

Yay, this page is back up! I have used Lonely Planet (and Trip Advisor) for most of my travel planning and it was a pain when the Thorn Tree was taken down. Glad to see it up and running again!

We are on month two of a seven month trip around the world with an 8 year old son and an 11 year old daughter. We have been in Hong Kong, Myanmar and Thailand so far. Actually in Phuket right now before we transition to New Zealand next week.I try to make our blog of combination of our experiences, but…
