Hello
My husband and I are in the process of saving and learning to prepare our selves for a trip next year, for one year.
It will be my husband, our 5 year old son and myself.
We are planning to start in Mexico and make it to Costa Rico spending valuable time in each country along the way.
We are looking for all the advise, help or contacts you can give us. Anything we need to know.
We want to learn the cultures, and expirience the real Central america not the tourist resorts.
Anyone, who is knows…

My husband and I were arguing about taking the kids to Italy - Rome, Florence and Venice. He says it's too difficult and they won't appreciate it anyway. But I would go for it for the sole reason that I WANT to go to these places even though we've both been to these cities before. In fact, it might be even easier - it's familiar to us so it won't be TOO hard - although I do have my doubts about public transportation and public restrooms. He argues that they'll be bored and tired, which I can…

My family is planning a trip to South Africa this summer with our 18-month-old... I so want to go, but every time I think about the actual travel there I get pretty anxious. Basically I'm looking for some "been there done that" stories. Any sage advice for how to make it there sanity intact?
I moved here from SA 25 years ago, so am somewhat familiar with the country (been back many times), but my most recent trip was 8 years ago. I know so much has changed....

We are going to Agadir with our 13 month old daughter later this month. Can anyone tell me if disposable nappies are easy to buy, and if full fat cows milk is available too.

My kids are so cool (me, biased, never!). Offered a choice between Disneyland Paris and Marrakesh they both chose Marrakesh! Nothing definite yet, as we are still examining finances, but can anybody pass on any useful info - places to stay, must sees etc. The kids are six and nine.

Hi there,
I am married to a Senegalese man and we are planning to go back to visit his family for 3 months starting in mid to late February. We will either be staying with family or renting a house in or aroung Dakar for this time, and will be making trips inland and south as well as possibly to Mali in this time. Today I have taken myself and our 15-month old daughter for vaccinations, and once again the nasty issue of malaria raises its ugly head.
The last time I was in Senegal I did a lot of…

Anyone been to Iran or Jordan with teenaged kids? Looking for some insights, one is wild to go, the other is exercising some kind of veto power to which she believes she is entitled. I know I am very ignorant in this area- could we go to Spain and do a few days in Morocco or is that really just totally not the same? Please pardon my lack of knowledge about all things remotely Arabic.

in late April with an occasionally wild four year old, calm picky eatin' seven year old, sixty five year old grandmother who's never travelled except to Europe and doesn't like swim/beach related activities.

I'd love to stay in La Colonia or another neighborhood that is not entirely tourist beach-centered hotels. Anyone got a recommendation.

Or really, any kind of recommendation! Lay em on me.

I think a hotel pool might be good or is there access to some sort of hotel pool for day users, should we…
