Hi

I'm starting to plan an extended trip to Asia - mostly Vietnam I'm thinking with my (will be then) 18 month old. A couple of things I wondered about

1) I'm guessing I'll be staying in budget hotel rooms cause I'm not sure about backpackers with a kid? But will I meet anyone this way or should I try staying in backpackers just to see if I make friends? Will I be lonely do you think and isolated?

2)What do I take to make myself comfortable in any location with a child? I am not adverse to…

Hello

We are flying into Krabi at the beginning of February with our two kids (ages 7 & 4, good travelers, did great in Mexico).
We will have about 17 days before flying out of Krabi again.

Originally we were looking at dividing our time between Ko Phi Phi & Ko Lanta... but recently I've been reading great things about Ko Lipe and can easily imagine spending our whole time there... diving included.

My question is about the ferry (Tigerline) & speedboat (Satun) services from Lanta to Lipe.

Planning a holiday in Aus round October. Will visit and stay with family for a time in Melbourne but plan to have a week or so on the Gold Coast. Any suggestions of places to stay, things to do and places to eat with our two rumbunctious boys greatly appreciated.

We're heading off on our first overseas trip as a family (and a long time since the last one for Mum & Dad)! Thinking of joining YHA/HI and using hostels as they seem ok for families. Would like to know if they are safe and how far in advance we should book rooms (particularly family rooms). Kids will be 12, 9 & 6 and we'll be travelling to Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Amsterdam/Netherlands and London/England. At this stage planning around 10 days in England and 10 days in Netherlands with other dates…

In March it will be a year since we returned from our epic half-year of backpacking around Asia with our two kids. I'm getting itchy feet again. I have no more money left in the travel file just now, but it's time to start planning again. I envision a shorter trip this time, maybe six weeks instead of six months, to Central America. I'm looking for some idea of costs for a family of 4, and suggestions on highlights or which country/countries to focus on. In terms of our style, we were…

posting from USA to Aus
I'm trying to buy a pram for my sister from Amazon.com

but because of the size of the pram they won't post it direct to Australia (it's too big)

What is the best and cheapest way to get a package sent from USA to Australia?

The package size is 52' x 25' x 40' and weighs 54 pounds

This is the pram in question

Hi everyone,
We are looking to spend time touring through parts of Sri Lanka in March 2011 with our one year old baby boy.

Both my wife and myself have travelled in India at different times prior to the birth and do have some experience of what maybe to expect in SL.

Apart from the flights from Australia of 8 hours to Singapore and then to Colombo with i believe another 3 hours, we are very keen to hear from anyone in relation to travelling with a 1 year old baby for 3 weeks in Sri Lanka…
