We are taking our 5 month old baby to NYC for a week in early March, then onto the Sarasota/Gulf coast of Florida for two weeks more.
Any ideas on fair priced baby-friendly hotels and stroller hire companies?
Also interested in activities that we can take our child to - especially in the evenings.
Bit worried it's too much to put her through, but she's quite plucky!
Any advice?

Hi,

We'd like to spend two weeks on one or two greek islands (cyclads) next summer with our two girls (4 and 5 years old). Is there one you would recommend ?

We are looking for a nice accomodation, close to a quiet beach on a quiet (if possible in summer!!!) island.

At walking distance from the "little town". No big buildings nor clubs. A small house would be nice. Or a hotel offering cooking facilities (so as not to have to go to restaurants for every meal)

If you have any experience of…

Hey there!

I am portuguese, and so is my family, but studying in Budapest this year. My parents are divorced, and so my father is going to fly with my sister to visit me in a week. However, he won't be flying from Portugal, they will fly from Madrid. Does my father need to carry an authorization letter from my mother where she states she allows her minor daughter to travel with her father? will they request it at the airport?

I know that if they were flying from Portugal they would need it…

Hi I was thinking of planning a trip in Nov Dec to Taiwan. Probably Taipei and a nature / mountain area like Hualian Taroko Gorge minsu or farmstay. Anybody has any fun ideas for families in Taipei and recommendations for Hualian area ? or any area you think is good for familites. what about farmstays ? Tried the minsu website but couldn't find any reviews so don't really want to wing it with 2 kids. We live in the city so thought it would be nice to let the kids have some natural scenery !

TIA

I'll put this one on Kids To Go, too, as there may be more readers needing the information than in the general Argentina section:

Argentina is a fantastic place to travel with a baby: the people are really friendly and love babies. Anywhere you go hostels, hotels, bus companies and restaurants are willing to accommodate your baby's needs.

In Buenos Aires you can rent furnished apartments that have all the facilities you would have at home and hostels are also good options to stay with a…

We're desperate to get away for a few weeks with our 2 yr old in September (he'll be 3 end of October) and after considering Italy for ages I've decided just to see where other seasoned travellers with children would go to set our creative juices going.

September/October is the earliest we can get away (well, August but it's bloody expensive), total budget about £1500-1800.

Toddler is pretty easy going, very sociable, has a vague but relaxed routine, doesn't have allergies or sn of any type…

Our family (2 adults plus 14 & 10 yr olds) will be doing a RTW trip starting in 2012. We are debating the RTW ticket versus buying legs as we go. But we have been told that many countries are now asking for evidence of onward tickets before allowing entry. Has anyone had any experience with this? Our plans are to visit South America, Africa, Aus/NZ, Europe and perhaps India or China. Any advice from recent travellers is gratefully welcome. Thanks!

Hi All,
I´m planning to travel from Europe to Bali with my children aged 5 and 2. I haven´t made long hauls with them so far, so I´m a little bit worried about them spending 17 hours non-stop on a plane.
Is it better to set my teeth and fly in one go, or make stopovers to give them a chance to play and chill out a bit? Basically, there are two options: Amsterdam-Denpasar or Vienna-Doha (3.5 hours stopover)-Denpasar.

Ta muchly, rez
