Still in the throws of researching... looking at two major options. We have 3 weeks(within a 12 week trip) to travel in Malaysia with our 3 year old arriving around sept 19.
opt 1 arrive in Penang, finish in Singapore
opt 1b start and finish in Singapore (loop, convenient as we can travel light and leave extra items with family)
opt 2 arrive in Kota Kinabalu and finish in Singapore
I've been having trouble getting excited about peninsular malaysia and putting together an itenerary that flows so we…

I am a single mom of a 6.5 yr old boy and am hoping to find another single mom with a child around the same age to travel with next summer. We are Canadian, living in Arizona and hoping to go walkabout June/July 2012. We are still open to location and length of trip. I used to travel quite a bit and would love to show my son what a great wide world we live in and think that it would be fun to do it with another family that was like minded. Some ideas of locations that we have tossed around…

Hi all - we are at wits end. Stupidly at a beach resort we drank the fresh juices and ended up with the runs. Our 7 ur old had the worst of it and has been in bed with fever, cramps, diarrhea and vomiting for 2 days. Vomiting and diarrhea stopped for now, but her fever is 101.2 farenheit right now. A doctor friend checked her out yesterday but it was too early to diagnose gastro, etc. We had a script for azithromycin from Canada and were told to use it for travelers diarrhea and made the…

My husband and I are planning a three night stopover in Hong Kong with very active 5, 3 and 6 month old children.

I know very little about the area so am hoping to pick some brains out there for accomodation recommendations. Would love to be somewhere that might have its own pool or one close by, also would like to be close-ish to the action but no need to be at our front door.

Also, what activities would you recomend for a young family, our kids are great walkers, but I would also prefer not…

I love to travel with my family to another country every year and experience different cultures and food. This year we are going on our trip to Europe, but since the economy is rough and I am not being payed as much as i used to we have to cut down on our budget. I want to make the trip amazing and fun. Does anyone know any things to do for free in Europe that would let us experience culture. We are spending a week in England and then spending a week around the Mediterranean (Rome, Greece, and…

Hi TT Guys,

I've used this forum loads to travel independently over the years...my Hubby and I have travelled extensively and love holidays. Now, with the twins...holidays have been less successful!

Despite this, we will keep trying! Looking to escape the UK Winter, ideally between Christmas and New Year but if not, Oct/Nov.

Has anyone got any recommendations for me? Ideally Europe, Canarys, Egypt/Mid East. Needs to be shortish flight, good kid friendly hotel, entertainment for kids...I…

Hi there. I will be travelling with my 17 month old son to UK in September 2011.

Any ideas/suggestion on how to make life easier for us ( sigh .. ) and any good places to take him to ( in London ) or where transport is accessible?

Cheers

My husband and I would like some advice/suggestions for taking a one month trip to somewhere in Central America with our baby next summer (he will be 1 yr old then).

Our preference would be to camp while we travel, with a rental car or with our own truck and gear which we'd bring with us from Canada.

We are looking for a mix of culture, outdoor adventure (most likely hiking since we can carry the little guy with us), and relaxing in some beautiful landscapes.

We've previously done 3 months of…

We are talking about taking a longer trip in some time from now, when our little one is 4 years old (she is now almost a year old). We have both traveled extensively and have taken her to Bali when she was 7 months old, which was amazing. For us, the most important reason to go would be to undertake this as a "family adventure"- have a lot of time to spend with each other in less than ordinary circumstances. Obviously, we also hope to show her more of the world than just our little corner of it…
