Hi there,
I was hoping anybody could recommend where to go for our 1 week vacation by mid september. We live in Los Angeles and wanted to go to a beach with my husband and my 11 month old baby. Ideally we want to fly no more than 5-7 hours and stay at an all-inclusive hotel. It'll be the first time for our baby in the ocean, so we wanted calm warm water. Oh, and our budget would be somewhere between $3K or $5?? (flight included)
Looking at the map it seems it'd be Hawaii, Mexico or the…
We are planning a trip to Italy on May 2012 and we are looking for places to go with small children (they'll be 1y3m and 3y3m at the time). I don't think big cities and big museums are interesting for children, so we're looking for villages and small towns with great scenery where we can relax and have an "ordinary" life... any suggestions?
Am considering going to South Africa next year for a couple of weeks, with our two boys, aged 11 and 8, would like to do Cape Town and also see some wildlife for sure but any tips on good itineraries, places to stay, touring round safely etc would be much appreciated.
We just returned from 3 weeks in Peru (as in, the suitcases are still on the bed) and I wanted to pass these tips on to other travellers with young children (ours are ages 5 and 7):
- Altitude sickness at higher elevations like Cusco can seriously affect the kids, but it is highly individual. At the airport, I bought an 'Oxi-Shot' can - bigger than a can of whipped cream of oxygen, with ~250 shots, 'just in case' for 40 soles. The entire family ended up using the thing at various times…
Can anyone recommend a nice, two-bedroom self-catering apartment (or villa?!) in Sicily, suitable for an 18 month old toddler and her two exhausted parents? We'd prefer a buzzy town/village centre location rather than a beach resort type place.
Thanks for your help!
This winter we want to go to Sri Lanka with our kids (11 and 13 years)
We used to stay all in the same room when we travel in Asia.
But in Sri Lanka it seems to be different..
Can anybody tell me if you can go to a hotel or guesthouse and stay with your children
for a little extra money in the same room?
We always take inflatebel matrasses with us just in case... so we don't "need" the extra bed..
Hi All,

We are planning a month long trip to Ethiopia over Christmas with our son. Ethiopia is a big country and many of the roads are supposed to be in pretty poor shape. We were planning to take a few internal flights. However we don't want to fly over it all. We'd love, where the road quality is ok and there's a decent bus service, to take a bus or two. If only because the only on the road alternative, a private car will be simply too expensive over a long distance.
Does anyone have a solution that…
So we have about 2.5 to 3 weeks in Januari or Februari next year. We have two kids, they will be 5 and a few months over 2 years old at that time. This will be our last opportunity to go on vacation outside the schoolvacations. So I really want to take go.
We were thinking of going to Bali. Mainly because travel distances are not too big. There's no malaria. It might be a bit touristy, but probably not at that time, so all facilities are there.
We've been looking at flight tickets and they…
