Hi all! Based on recommendations and some research, we came up with the following tentative itinerary. I would love to have more thoughts and input....
Day 1 Munich- arrive 12pm train to hotel, local sightseeing (stay in Munich)
Day 2 Munich- local sightseeing (stay in Munich)
Day 3 Dachau via bus, train, evening sightseeing in Munich (stay in Munich)
Day 4 Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau (rental car) (stay in Munich)
Day 5 Depart Munich, Drive to Stuttgart via Augsberg, Ulm (stay in Stuttgart)
Day 6 Stuttgart- local sightseeing for husband baby and I ;Mother and father in law do a day trip with rental car to Nassau (family history) (stay in Stuttgart)
Day 7 day trip with rental car to either Rothenberg, Heidelberg, Tubingen, Bad Wimpfen (stay in Stuttgart)
Day 8 Drive to Baden Baden, day at the spa, local sightseeing (stay in Baden Baden)
Day 9 Day trip with rental car to Haut rhin Alsace/ Grusseuheim (stay in Baden Baden)
Day 10 Day trip to Black Forest towns with rental car (stay in Baden Baden)
Day 11 Drive to airport in Frankfurt, stop in Frankfurt or Heidelberg before 5:30 pmflight
In Munich we are looking to stay at the Four Points Sheidan (free with award points), In Stuttgart we are looking at the Le Meridian (free with award points).
We would love suggestions for a Bed and Breakfast or small boutique type, reasonably priced hotel in Baden Baden. We are considering the Rathausglockel. We will need either 2 rooms or a suite and since we have 4 adults and the baby; and we will need to be on a lower floor or have an elevator.
Any tips on sightseeing, day trips is more than welcome!
I really appreciate all of the input. It is quite different to be planning a trip with a baby. I have always relied in local transportation, but I do think having a rental car for the majority of this trip will be easier as we do want to bring our own car seat.
Thanks to all!
Carrie
