Are we mad to take our 2 kids (aged 10months and 3and half years) to Taman Negara in malaysia?? We have been to Malaysia several times already, normally visitting Penang and KL and various islands. However now we fancy seeing more of the mainland. Taman Negara looks to be a fascinating place for older children, and i'm sure our 3 year old would love the boat trip and the jungle. But is there a malaria risk? Also could we organise it ourselves or are we better going on an organised tour from KL? We will be 4 adults as my parents are coming too. Thanks for any advice.

Just don't let your 3 year old walk around in the Jungle without checking him/her thoroughly afterward. There are leaches everywhere in Taman Negara. But it is a beautiful place.

You should have no trouble organizing a tour when you get there since you have so many people in you group (we had to make sure others were going to make up the group).

Don't miss the canopy walk!

Hi there, we are contemplating the same thing (kids aged 3 and 11 months). Did you end up going? How was it?
