Sarawak Caves and Bako NP

Interest forums / Kids To Go

Hi Guys,

Another question about toddler suitably. I will be able to carry my 3 yr old in a sling, on my back. We done some of the challenging treks at Yosemite NP with me carrying my little in the sling. Some questions:
1. Are any of the cave walks by raised wooden platforms only? I have been to Sabah some years ago, and visited Guomontang cave, but not sure if this compares with Mulu or Niah.
2. Do the excursions include deep forest treks?
3. Do the treks include steep or slippery climbs?

I would really love to see the bat exodus and hope that this trip is possible. Very interested in your views.

In regards to Bako, I've had a look at some of the walks. Trekking with my little one on my back is not a problem. I'm just concerned about going through thick foliage and getting leeches. It's not something I want to stress about with my little one. But if the paths are cleared, then I'd be ok with that. Any advice on which trail might be the best? We may have Tioman in our itinerary, so do you think a forest walk will be better there or at Bako NP?

Any input would be gratefully received.

Thanks.
