Yay, this page is back up! I have used Lonely Planet (and Trip Advisor) for most of my travel planning and it was a pain when the Thorn Tree was taken down. Glad to see it up and running again!

We are on month two of a seven month trip around the world with an 8 year old son and an 11 year old daughter. We have been in Hong Kong, Myanmar and Thailand so far. Actually in Phuket right now before we transition to New Zealand next week.I try to make our blog of combination of our experiences, but I've also added specific recommendations and travel tips (packing, road schooling, itin planning etc) as well. If anyone wants to check out our blog, we are at:

http://notesfromabigworld.com/

Both our children are keeping blogs too (see links on our blog), if you want to see what our trip is like through the eyes of the younger ones.

Anyone else on the road? If our paths will overlap, let me know! It's always fun to meet other travelling families!

Happy Trails,
Jenn (USA)

PS One specific tip I will include now: PACKING CUBES. Absolutely love these for keeping things organized.

Hi Angal,

Thanks for the compliment! Blogging is our "part-time" job on the road. It's important to me to both chronicle our journey for ourselves, provide a report to friends and family back home AND, along the way, to provide tips on travelling, especially with kids. I'm working on some useful, practical posts that I'll get up in a week or so. :-)

Cheers,
Jenn

This is amazing and inspirational.
I have travelled a lot with my 5 year old daughter from when she was very little, just me and her!
I plan to take her around the world soon!.
