Hi everyone,

We're desperately looking for kids' clothing (sizes 6-10) that can be hand-washed and will dry quickly. We've recently moved to the US Virgin Islands and find that clothing designed for travel works best in this climate. My husband and I can find tons of tropical weight, mesh, quick-drying, and anti-microbial clothing for adults. For our son, light woven cotton boxers and shorts work well. But I'm pulling my hair out finding any underwear for my daughter that isn't traditional knit cotton and typical tshirts and knit skorts are heavy and can take days to dry.

Does anyone have a brand, store, or even an Etsy source?

Thanks!

hi
Kathmandu is an australian outdoor company and they do a small range in children's clothing, although i didn't see anything in the underwear section. personally, i'd love to see some bamboo underwear for kids--maybe we should start a line?! i think you may be able to order from their website online?? good luck.

Thanks for the link - I'll check them out! Bamboo underwear would be brilliant! (for all ages)

i have some for myself and they are great--anti bacterial too, very comfy and very thin so dry quickly, but also don't last as long as cotton.

A clothesline can be outside or it may be a retractable line in a bathroom or basement. When using a line, space clothes out and avoid overlapping items, which will increase the time necessary for them, to dry. Use clothespins to secure items to the line, especially, if the line is outdoors, so the items are not blown off, by the wind. You can dry, any type of clothing on a clothesline, but they are especially, ideal for large items, such as sheets, or for small quick-drying items such as socks and T-shirts. Keep in mind, the strength of your line, when choosing to dry heavy items, such as jeans or blankets. It will need to be strong enough to support, the weight without breaking. In addition, delicate fabrics can be damaged or left with marks, from clothespins. Consider placing a small piece of fabric, such as a wash cloth, over the clothing, before securing the pin, to protect it.
