Nice hotel near-ish Manchester (UK)

Can anyone recommend a nice romantic hotel with a fantastic restaurant about an hour or two from Manchester? One that would be happy for a travel cot to be placed in the room where you could hear the baby monitor from the restaurant.

I'm flexible so somwehere in the Lakes, North Wales or Yorkshire/the Peaks would be perfect.

I've stayed recently at the Drunken Duck Inn at Ambleside (after a recommendation from this site) and the Hotel du Vin in Harrogate so those are the sort of places I'm looking for (about £100-120 for B&B).

try Crabwell Manor near chester, the restaurant is superb, theres a pool, snooker table its a real country retreat,
stayed there last march and had a really nice stay
