Hi

We are going to Nepal for a couple of weeks over the Easter break with our children (ages 4, 10, 12, 14 & 16). I was wondering if anybody had been there recently & could give recommendations on family friendly accommodation (under $50 a night per room - probably need 2) & good places to eat in Kathmandu & Pokhara. Also, has anybody trekked in April with kids to Poon Hill?

Thanks

Glen

Well, no and yes. I've done the Annapurna circuit. The last part of that is Poon Hill. There are a lot of steep steps, you may have to carry your little one. Also, I didn't think much of that area, but we were spoilt by the Annapurnas I suppose. Accom and food will be no problem, it's really cheap and there are loads of options. We did Annapurna in Feb, it was very snowy up high, but Poon Hill was fine. We are taking our boys ( 6 and 8) in November and are going to have a crack at Annapurna Circuit or EBC. We won't be disappointed if we turn back though, it may be too much for them. Good luck and have a brilliant time. I love Nepal.

Sounds amazing, I´m just dreaming about Nepal these days. Sorry I can´t help you, but maybe post your question on the Nepal branch as more Nepal experts will see the post and be able to help you.
