Anybody have any suggestions where I can take my 8 year old daughter in the evening when we pop down to London in February ?
I'd love to see a show or something, but they're just too damn expensive for my budget.
Any other ideas ?
Cheers.

Try the Official Half Price Ticket Booth in Leicester Square. It is in the Clocktower Building in Leicester Square itself, run by the Society of London Theatres. I think it opens at 12pm and you get half price shows for that day. I've never seen things like The Lion King on sale there, but you seem to always have a chance for Les Mis, and I got My Fair Lady tickets there, although that's no longer on now. Probably more choice middle of the week. What are you doing during the day? I think some of the museums are open later some evenings. What about eating at the Rainforest Cafe?
great advice from pixie. spend the day wandering about then see what you can pick up at the last minute. everything is expensive in london.

- Definitely the London Eye - its beautiful in the day and the evening.
2. If your daughter is a foodie - Chinatown is a great place to eat and it can be as cheap or as expensive as you like. I can recommend Golden Dragon on Gerard St.
3. St Pauls Cathedral often have sung vespers in the evening. my 8 year old loves this
4. Check on lastminute.com for theatre deals: meal and show can be quite reasonable - but still not cheap
5. DUring the day: A ride on the duckboat which leaves from Waterloo is really fun. tour london in an amphibious bus - it goes down the thames as well as through central london with a commentator
6. The VIctoria and ALbert Museum in Kensington has free activity for kids as do The Wallace Collection, Tate Britain, Tate Modern. If you do a free activity in the day maybe you can treat yourself in the evening.
have fun!!!!!!!!!

- Go to Hambley's the toy store. It's six stories tall and there's always lots of hands on stuff to do and it's open in the evening.
2. The larger museums are open one evenig during the week and some are free.
3. Get a time out magazine and check for free events. We went to a lovely classical guitar performance for free at the Venezuelan embassy
Have fun
