Hi all,

We just got back from a most incredible family trip to this country full of the friendliest people we have ever met on our travels. The sights are spectacular, and it's like turning the clock back 40 years - no superhighways, no high rises, no hassle from vendors and the people just want to be friends. Visiting families are rare, and get treated so well!
I am blogging on our trip at http://travelwithkidz.quivertreeworld.com

Enjoy!

Hi Carol

Thanks - it was totally amazing.
My blog is coming along - I've done Yangon, Bagan, Monywa, Mandalay, Pyin oo Lwin and now I'm on Hsipaw (pretty much following in your footsteps!). Still to come is Kengtung and Inle.

Too soon to know about the next trip - but it'll be somewhere fascinating for sure. Actually, I would have liked to have seen more of Burma, but the monsoon season put is off getting anywhere near the coast, and we would have outstayed our visa.

Thanks so much for your blog. Am currently planning a Myanmar leg of our family RTW with boys next Spring who are 8 and 10. The soccer game half-time game photo tells such a wonderful story. My big focus on how to find opportunities for my boys to interact with other kids and a soccer match is the perfect opportunity! What others have you found?
