Hi
Could anyone recommend a good child friendly hotel in Cape Town. Preferably close to public transport and definitely near to a good beach? Also, has anyone gone on a safari whilst based in Cape Town. Again, it would have to be child friendly (we are on holiday on a couple of weeks with our 4 1/2 year old.

We've just come back from 2 weeks in Cape Town, and visited the Garden Route Game Lodge. It is in Albertinia along the Garden Route, and I believe the closest to Cape Town with all the Big 5 animals. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get there. the accomodation is fab, and you can go on a morning safari drive, and an evening one, each 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. it is a new place, so has only a few of the large animals, but as it is also small you get to see them at close range - unlike at the big safari parks when you may wait for hours to see a few animals miles away. Our 8 and 4 year olds just loved it. www.gardenroutegamelodge.co.za (or something like that!)
