My husband and I have found ourselves in the fortunate position of being without work for 3 months! We have a 5 and 6 year old and have decided that we should take the oppertunity to go on an adventure for 6 weeks. We have no idea where to go though. I fancy Asia ( Vietnam ) We have never done anything like this and are nervous about getting it wrong. Can anyone suggest where to start? Any advice would be greatly received. We are an active family and up for a bit of adventure as well as culture and relaxation. Bestest D
Hi D! You are so right! Go girl! The world is your oyster and you both are extremely lucky to both be unemployeed at the same time. As a family of five traveling on an open-ended adventure; I must tell you 'YOU CAN'T GET IT WRONG!' No matter where you go, if you go slowly, and with the intent to discover your world, and your family- you guys can't go wrong. That being said, of course, you want safe and cheap.
We have been living in Central America for almost the last six months and find that Panama is both safe and cheap. Do you want to move around the entire time or settle down in one or two places? Because we are doing this for the long haul, we prefer to stay in each location for about two months, and actually live with the locals/become a part of their lives, before moving on. At any rate, we have found places to stay here for maybe $100 a month.
Hope that helps. Breathe. This is your big shot to go be with your family and grow together. Wherever you go, you will find blessings, light, and adventure waiting for you!
