PS - she bought the KELTY Kangaroo. She calls it the "best thing since wetwipes" which I understand is the pinnacle of praise

I highly recommend the New Native carrier, it folds up very small (about t-shirt size) and can be crammed anywhere.

Theodore Bean makes a groovy carrier for toddlers ( I believe up to 40lbs plus) and they are a little pricey, but for what you get. Very nice.

I really liked the backpack carriers when my kids were wee.
They could fall asleep too and got a great view of things.

cheers from Ruth

Baby Bjorn is not recommended as it doesn't distribute baby's weight and puts all the pressure at the base of the spine (and testicles for boys). The wraps and slings are best for baby.
