Hi everyone,
Our family of 4 is taking a year off beginning this time next year. We hope to spend 3 months in Spain to start and then make our way to S. America. We are looking for any advice on a route and places that would be suitable for extended visits as we would like to be able to stay in good locations for 4 weeks (or more) at a time. We are thinking of flying from Spain to Brazil or Argentina and then heading over to Peru and Ecuador.

Any thoughts you may have on safety, places to visit and stay with a 4 and 6 year old are much appreciated!

Hi
Buenos Aires is a great city and really kid frienly.
In Brasil, Florianópolis is a great island, with lots of different beaches.
Fell free to PM me with any doubt yoiu may have about the south of Brazil and kid-friendly places that I´ll be gla to help.

We had a blast with your 4 year old in Colombia earlier this year. We stayed along the Caribbean coast landing in Barranquilla and heading towards Cartagena. Cartagena is a fantastic city with a lot of culture and sort of like Colombia-lite because it has a fair amount of tourism, though I'm not sure I'd want to stay there for 4 weeks, a week with side-trips to some of the many small islands off the coast was plenty for us.
