Someday I will make ice cream tacos for April Fools. Round waffle warmed and folded for shell. Chocolate ice cream (small chunks, placed with butter knife) for "meat", vanilla ice cream (squeezed from zip bag or frosting bag with tip) as "sour cream", diced strawberries or cherries as "tomatoes", green and orange colored coconut shreds as "lettuce" and "cheese".

Today I'll settle for this easy idea found online -- Write "Donut Seeds" on a small envelope. Fill with Cheerios and give to a…

Take your initial estimate, double that and add 20 percent.
It always takes more time and money than you think it should.

I'm locked in a country with terribly boring food right now and to help quell some of my cravings I'm making food plans for when I get back home. So along those lines I want to order some canned tomatoes for an arrabiata I've been drooling at the thought of.

Muir Glen tomatoes are my brand of choice but here's my question; is it better to use regular canned tomatoes or fire roasted tomatoes for an arrabiata? If it's just a matter of personal preference then so be it, but if one is better than…

As a result of being given a gift card to a store I rarely frequent I've ended up with a litre of Rice Oil.

Heard good things and have perused the website

However I'm interested in first hand experience -does anyone here have any?

Might fry eggs in some tonight for a start.

Hi all,

Hope this is the correct forum in which to ask this question!

I'm heading overseas to Spain on Friday (from Australia) and have planned to take four bottles of a nice local wine with me as gifts for some people I'll be seeing.

My problem is this - how to safely pack the wine given that the luggage handlers are not exactly gentle with cases? I'd hate to arrive in Spain and discover four broken bottles, and all my clothes ruined :-(.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Larissa

Hey peeps, many of you old time GSers may remember my love of thai food. After marrying into the thai culture I found I could not even think about cooking my version of thai food after my wife moved to Ausralia and cooked her traditional thai food. Having not grown up with the acute knowledge of balancing flavours I was way out of my depth. Thus I haven't cooked Thai for about four years now and my website is gone. I do still love food and have been playing around with sous vide and the…

I've never tried celeriac root before. I'm going to cook it up with parsnip and potato in chicken broth, mash, and then bake with some cheese.

What does celeriac root taste like? I saw one website describe it as tangy, but I can't envision it....

Hey,

I cant drink (alc+coffee) and somke (please dont ask why) and im looking for a casual everyday drug that is not too harmful and can accompany e.g. a conversation. As I cant find any in western culture, is there one in others?
If so, what are the pros and cons?

Does not work: betel, cigars, (harmful), chewing gum, Tea (boring)

Thanks!
