Last night we decided to go to our favortie Korean restaurant for dinner. I can't tell you the name of it because it's written in Korean and the wait staff doesn't speak a lot of English.

Along the way we found new Korean restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I can't tell you the name of that one either for the same reason.

They started by serving flounder sashimi. To date, I have never been impressed with flounder sushi or sashimi. This was incredibly good. Then they gave us the standard bowls of small amounts of appetizers like Kim Chi. Most of these weren't all that spectacular. They also served miso. Then we had the absolutely best dumplings (fried) I've ever had in my life. I ordered the breaded fried fish with special sauce but they were out so I got the breaded fried pork with special sauce. It was amazing!

And there was a huge, huge amount of food. We could have ordered one appetizer and one meal between the 2 of us and been fine. And the service was excellent. It's a rare occurence for us to be this impressed by a restaurant.

Sounds really nice.
Is this a restaurant in Korea - or a Korean restaurant in another country?
I really like dumplings from The Far East - regardless of which country.
In fact I like dumplings here in The UK as well.
I only discovered Sushi quite recently - and really like it. Not so keen on that green paste they serve with it - though. It just tastes like battery acid. So stupid hot.... Ouch :-(

It's a Korean restaurant in Maryland, near Baltimore (Ellicott City). I like a tiny bit of the green paste (Wasabi) mixed in with the soy sauce. My husband occasionally eats it plain. He's quite insane.

Wasabi.... That's the stuff. So not for me.
You have some very good Far Eastern restaurants out there.
We did a Japanese one in Florida - where the centre table is the stove and the chef prepares and cooks everything in front of the customer - then tosses it into the bowls - just superb and so incredibly filling - too.

We have those here too, but they put the food on plates, not bowls.. They're kinda hit or miss. There is one that's really good but it's about 1/2 hour away from our house and there are so many good restaurants near us that we never get there. They all do onion volcanos and play with fire. I love that.

I suspsect ye liked it so much because it was, this time, very fresh - it's the only way sushi works, of course. (Personally, I think it's an over-rated fad in the West, sashac.)

You're a very fast poster for a dog-walker.
