I read somewhere a while back about a 15 course feast in Venice that starts at lunchtime and ends at midnight. With fireworks. Now this sounds like something that I would like very much, being the glutton that I am, but I can't find the article and have googled to no avail.
Anyone point me in the right direction? I'm guessing it's a public holiday?

Searched for Venice Feast and found many such -- how about this one?

Feast of the Redeemer (Il Redentore) - the festival is held every third week in July, with fireworks, a regatta, and the locals celebrate by cooking and bringing their food and furniture outside, where they eat and drink the night away by the side of the canal.

Take your initial estimate, double that and add 20 percent.
It always takes more time and money than you think it should.
