Hi, I am travelling to the mentioned cities and country this summer (late july - early august) and want to know what the local delicacies are that are recommended I must try. I want to taste as traditional+ and iconic dishes as possible - so any suggestions as to +where eat that as well would be warmly welcomed (though listing stuff to try will be much appreciated too!)

I have the following list already:

Munich: beer from Hofbrauhaus, Pretzels, Currywurst, Schmalznudel

Switzerland: Swiss Cheese, Fondue, Chocolates, Cakes, Rosti, Quiche, Zopf -- Will be in Interlaken, Lucrene, Bern most likely

Vienna: Sachertorte (from the hotel)

Prague: ????

Any additional suggestions would be great - particularly for Prague :p
Also suggestions for where I could get nice, traditional versions of the above would be good too.
I eat all meats but beef/veal, however I'm also travelling with a vegetarian friend (no poultry, red meat, fish) so any veggie suggestions would be a bonus!

Munich -- Obatzda, Griebenschmaltz, Wurstsalat. Don't limit your beer intake to Hofbräu.

Does currywurst have some particular connection with Munich?

Vienna: Wienerschnitzl, Kaiserschmarren, Strudel, Kaffee mit Schlagobers

Prague: Koláče, roast pork, roast duck

Very popular in Czech Rep are knedliky, sort of steamed dough, sliced and served with all kinds of meat and veggie dishes. Also a wide variety of sausages.
And of course beer.

Munich's food and drink are far and away it's best attraction!
So many nice dishes to try there. My favorite food was in the Weises Wrauhaus, sort of pricey but very good, mainly roast pork and such. Their schneider weisse beer is real nice too.
The oktoberfest museum sounds like a tacky place to east and drink but their restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was reasonable and pretty tasty.
My favourite beer we tried would definitely have to be the Augustiner.

Viennese food wasn't quite so awesome but enjoyable nonetheless. Wienerschnitzel is probably the most iconic thing you could sample there, as well as sachertorte.
We were recommended a little known restaurant/bar called centimetre by one of our hostel staff. It wasnt exactly fine dining but it was fairly authentic (i think) the portions were massive and it tasted great, was pretty affordable too.

Munich.
Nobody has mentioned yet shweinshaxe , or pork shank. Very popular in Bayern and the rest of Germany.

If you are going to the black forrest area of Germany, we had a local soup dish of slow cooked pork knuckles and vegetables, first the veggies are served in the soup, and seconly you attack the pork knuckles by themselvs, and tradition has it they are washed down with wheat beer, yum!

Munich, add a traditional Bavarian breakfast of Weisswurst with sweet mustard (insist on Haendlmeyer), bretzel and wheat beer.

I think in Prague I had roast pork with knoedel nearly every day. And the beer's among the best in Europe. U Fleku used to be good and had everything you needed, but this was in the early 90s.

You might go to a Heuriger outside of Vienna.
