There have been no OPs on the branch for almost 24 hours.

When I was a bonnie wee laddie (1970s) there was never a day without discourse.

In 2012, we have at least a billion people connected and - in some ways, bliss - they have nothing to say on LPTTGS.

From a sociological, psychological and philosophical perspective, I find this fascinating.

Edited by: tony0001: OIPs to OPs: my latest novel has OIPS in it.

I had Tasmanian blueberries in my Bircher muesli this am.

Feel free to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of bastardising traditional Bircher muesli.

I'd like ideas for what I can make with a lump of beef and some curly endive since it's going nuts in the garden and I'm clearing out the freezer incase of a decent catch of fish when the hubby goes on a charter soon.

Fascinating, SiM.

Sliced, warm rare beef salad, mockchoc?

Blueberries - Tas or otherwise - strike me as an exciting addition to Yotam Ottolenghi's offering, DD.

I am wondering whether Honduras has the most limited range of 'local cuisine' in the world.

It is my first time in the country.Every local place seems to serve the same tortillas with beans and cheese.Maybe a bit of chicken.

Anyone know anything about Honduran cuisine?

mockchoc / #2 - Your note about an excess of endive reminded me of this article from a couple of years ago -- The Tyranny of the CSA Box http://heavytable.com/the-tyranny-of-the-csa-box/

Commenters recommended three ways to use greens, besides the standard cold salads -- Stir Fry or Pesto or Green Smoothie - add a banana and any other fruit on-hand along with milk, yogurt & greens and although the drink will look odd, they say you'll only taste the fruit, not the greens.

Take your initial estimate, double that and add 20 percent.
It always takes more time and money than you think it should.

Not sure my blender would be up to turning the endive into a smoothie or I'd try it. Pesto is a good idea.

I've made a big batch of stock today and then added beans, bacon, endive, garlic etc to make soup for my work lunches for the week. Tastes quite good! I also wilted some through gnocchi with blue cheese and walnuts for dinner. Good way to get in some greens.

The demise of GS

It's not a demise, it's just the oil needs changing.
It's done a lot of cooking.

I thought it's been tasting a bit funny here lately. Whose turn is it to change the oil?
