No offence, OP - but just having heard of flax methinks I should share wae ye what I thought it might've meant:
1. that which is removed frae teeth on brushing - similar to plaque but does not build up;
2. residue on sheets after a good night;
3. residue on self after not such a good night;
4. word uttered by a drunk losing the argument, as in 'I'm telling ye, this is a fluckin flax'.
