What's in yours? What's not?

OP first, I guess.

In mine, I always have anchovies, eggs, olives, tomatoes, lettuce and red onion. Never potatoes. Sometimes tuna and green beans.

Yum!

eggs, tuna, capers, green beans, lettuce, red onion, red bell pepper, tomatoes, and radishes (if I can find good ones).

I leave out the anchovy. My recipe doesn't call for potatoes.

Take your initial estimate, double that and add 20 percent.
It always takes more time and money than you think it should.

I don't make salade niçoise any more since I realized I don't much like string beans.

I do make a salad with greens, potatoes, chick peas, tomatoes, onions, tuna, eggs, anchovies, capers, and black olives, but I don't think I can call it a salade niçoise without the string beans.

I don't think string beans is one of the essentials, like olives or anchovies or tomatoes. According to some sources it shouldn't have any cooked vegetables in it (although I often use green beans in mine).

I like the idea of artichokes as well, and broad beans. Not so sure about the chick peas . . .

I just bought the ingredients for a Niçoise, because it's going to be around 102/39 here for the next couple of days & I don't want to cook much. Today, being 4th of July, I'm barbecuing.

I pretty much follow Julia Child. No anchovy, because I don't like it.

Tuna (oil packed, not water packed), green beans, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, olives (usually Kalamata), capers. I make a separate French style potato salad--oil & vinegar dressing instead of mayonnaise-based. I season the tuna, beans & tomatoes separately with vinaigrette and sprinkle the finished assembly with capers & chopped parsley.

I've had it in restaurant made with grilled tuna steak . . . and its not quite as good (surprisingly) as with canned tuna.

I always have anchovies, eggs, olives, tomatoes, lettuce and red onion, potatoes and also tuna in my Salade Nicoise. I put all the ingredients because I like it. :)

I tried it on Sunday with artichokes (chargrilled hearts) and it rocks!
