What about fruit salad, surely thats a pretty typical breakfast food in a lot of places?
This thread has inspired me. I will have a small scoop of Perfection Salad with breakfast. I made a localized version yesterday using unflavored gelatin: no sweet bell peppers, pimento or celery in it, but a touch of sweet pickle relish and a spike of chiles manzanos instead. (It's fairly colorless, but tart 'n tasty.)

I think I would draw the line at having Perfection Salad for breakfast.
I have no idea if my friend would eat grilled tomatoes and beans for breakfast. She said she was craving simple eggs. mishmish, eating something substantial for breakfast is helpful in giving you energy for the next few hours. So I don't object to eggs and sausage for breakfast. At home, though, my typical breakfast is fruit and yogurt.

I say ye can eat whatever ye like for breakfast - from porridge tae prawns, bacon tae basil, sausages tae suaerkraut; and, if ye wish, muffins tae mules. That's what I say.

That sounds pretty tasty. I would like a salad with eggs and maybe a creamy/thick salad dressing.

phoey to shunning food on some stupid principal or tradition.
Shunning because you don't want something is different.
In Samoa, I was served Spaghetti-O's for breakfast. I definitely shunned those because it was disgusting but funny.
