Which Le Cruset do you have auntie and how long have you had them for?

I'd love to buy a small peice and test out how it goes in different situations before taking risks with this one.

OP, don't want to be a wet blanket, but it is actually called a Le CrEUset and not Le CrUEset :)
I hope you enjoyed your Coq au VIn!

Yes you are right, thanks piaczka.

It was lovely but I overcooked it a little. Better luck next time!

mockchoc, I have a large roaster, a medium roaster and a deep braising dish. I got them about 20 years ago now. But I don't think the quality has changed.

I use them for everything.

My indulgence was Scanpan ..... I deserved it ... and so did Bill . Alas ... the awe & respect did not last and it became a mess .... non stick surface sticky.
So.... these days I buy cheap ( but not nasty) .... use it ... put it in the dishwasher ... throw it in the pot drawer... and throw it out after a year or so and start again .
At $30 against $280 ... I'm prolly ahead....

I do feel ashamed though >

Yes I have a couple of spanpan peices philistine and they look like crap. Handle is broken on one, should throw it out.

In 1989 when I was moving out of my Edinburgh flat, I dropped the lid of my one and only Le Creuset dish. I lived on the top floor (no lift) - it fell over the banister of the fifth floor and landed on concrete steps several flights below, slightly chipping a stair.

I use this dish and lid today.

If someone was hit by it they'd be dead for sure. Then were would we be without your tales if you were in the clink tonya?

Since it was in 1989 I'd be free by now, Sue :)

How do you know my name is Sue tony? Might be Tom, Dick or Harry.

Anyhow I thought they lock people up for doing awards too so be careful.
