Not guilty - Your Honour!

I can confirm, after an exhaustive investigation, Niner, that Mr Dawg did not knowingly submit posts tae LP under two or more usernames. Nor was he e'er encouraged to dae so by me. Really, he wisnae. Honestly...

P.S. I watched this on BBC2 ('high brow') TV only last week; then again, I had a wee hand in it: Tutorial for Vinny

Ye might need tae re-click play after the 30 sec intro - an intro I'm not so keen on.

It's a programme wherein famous (ish) Scots pick several Scottish words/phrases and talk about them, Mr Dawg.

I suppose the most famous of the contributors, at least sports-wise, is Gavin Hastings - his favourite word is stramash+. Broadcaster Catriona Shearer's favourite is +nae fearty+. Others include delights such as +Shut yer geggie or I'll gie you the malkie.

Maybe the trailer will work, DD [http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00hlgty]

P.S. I suggested a new word which they were having none of since, clearly, it lacks authenticity: Ballsimer - the self-righteous taking to task of those who speak Scots by, usually, a pretentious person from Baltimore. Och!

I can't get it either, which means that Vinny probably won't be able to, either. And I so wanted to watch "Using Scots words to create a menacing atmosphere."

But do take a look at Translating Scottish English to American English From Saturday Night Live.

Now there's a sig line waiting to happen.

Not to mention a nomination if the annual - GS snippets 'R' us handbook.

The link in nutrax's post was great. I wondered if Tony would understand it all. Never mind the translation.

Btw - this was once on GS and is worth a re-run. Eleven.

Nutrax: if I didnae know ye better I'd think ye were taking the piss: Video not found - and then it lists a long youtube URL which it won't let one c&p, else I would.

"Using Scots words to create a menacing atmosphere." This is not, of course, the definition - I accept ye were not proffering it as such, Nutrax.

P.S. I have been giving some thought to yer The tyranny of distance. Sometimes I dislike living at the bottom of the world , Mr Dawg.

And I've been wondering what I could do tae help. I know ye like music and I thought this might be therapeutic
