In my neighborhood I can still get beer (in standard 16 oz. bottle) for $14 a case such as Yuengling. A few weeks ago I also ordered and picked up a case of specialty craft beer for $72 (Stone Ruination).
Mad, that the new duty was supposedly to curb binge drinking (as if ! !).
However cider, which is normally around the 6% mark (often much more), is way cheaper than beer.
It's impossible to make any sense out of the whole theory.
Where there used to be beer cans along the lane, there are now empty 2 litre bottles of Strongbow.
Great for the environment too.
I'd switch to cider myself, only that I don't like it very much.
On a nice summer's day, in the countryside sat by a lake....
A piece of farmhouse cheddar, crusty bread and a cold can of cider.
That's o pretty much the only time I'd bother with it.
We don't get a summer in The UK though - so it doesn't happen very often for me.
BTW if you are looking for decent cheap beer........you can get a 1 litre bottle of 'Victoria' (local brand) at most bars in Nicaragua for about 1 euro. That's at a bar,not in a supermarket......
Now you just need to get the plane ticket to Managua.........
Where I live it is quite the opposite if you believe what the news have been reporting.
My starting point: I take 'the news' with a pinch of salt, yaofeng.
billy....are you sure that Aldi's lager is called ''brassiere''?
Or was it a Freudian slip?
