I have never been to Indonesia (yet).
I have no Indonesian cookbooks.
It is about 20 years since I ate at an Indonesican restaurant in London.
But I have an illogical desire to eat an Indonesian chicken dish tomorrow night when Mrs Faz is out..
Any help?

Sorry but that recipe doesn't sound authentic. Indonesians don't use ground ginger, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and peanut butter.

I still don't know what dish this is.

I was just in indonesia last year and I can't really think of any particularly memorable chicken dishes. Don't get me wrong, the food was good but I'm drawing a blank when trying to think of a particular chicken dish that I would recommend.

Smelly, to the contrary, Indonesian cooking uses peanut butter.

Ayam goreng ( fried chicken) or Kampong ( village ) chicken ( meaning free ranch ). Most of the chicken are skinny without much fat but just delicious eating with the skin on! All the Nasi Padang restaurants would have this in their menu.
