What do they fry them in?

Silk and bamboo worms are a common snack in Southeast Asia and they don't smell here.

Sorry, Henning, I never got the recipe. I think they were usually boiled or steamed. Perhaps that makes the difference?

Perhaps the Korean silk worms you had in Korea were marinated in fermented stinky tofu or kimchee?

Looks like the more common spelling is "Beondegi." They are described as "seasoned," but I cant find (in any language I can read), the ingredients.

A poster on the NEA branch wrote "Beondegi is easy to find. Just use your nose to find something that smells like shoes on fire."
