What's up with the culling?

Since this is a foodie branch, how many of you have eaten horse meat? I haven't and can't. I love them too much.

Never and never will....you can't eat something you ride.

I've ridden, loved, and eaten horses. People who won't eat loveable things are bloody hypocrites: too squeamish to be omnivores, too selfish to be vegetarian, accepting any cruelty they don't have to watch.

oh, and btw: horses are not naturally present in Australia and are destroying much of its ecosystem. Of course, a person cull would be another idea across the whole world.

I ate a lot of horse meat in college. In those days in Denver, fresh horse meat was sold as food for dogs and starving college students. I liked it -- great in meat loaf.

Well, yeah but surely there must be a better alternative to get around that problem. This is barbaric.

My grandma ate some horsemeat before. She said it's "very heaty". Whatever that means.

#3 - "and are destroying much of its ecosystem" is a bit of a stretch!
