Hi , its Good friday here and as the tradition is to eat seafood I have fresh live mussels . I normally cook with garlic , white wine and parsley and serve with baguette to soak up teh juices but am wondering is anyone has other recipes .
Thank you
but am wondering is anyone has other recipes .
Spaniards make similar dish in tomato sauce sauce, but, I must say I still prefer the dish the way you decribed it, which is the way I make it too.
Mejillones en salsa de tomate

What Fieldgate said. There are other recipes (there was a weird one here a while back called Mussels Congolaise) but you've got the best one already.
thanks for the replies i did'nt receive them until after i had cooked the mussels , i created a dish with spanish sausage , onion and capsicum on a bed of cous cous the mussels then went on top of the mix covered with foil and cooked in a hot oven . The juices from the mussels infused into the cooked cous cous giving it extra flavour , it was nice but i think i will stick with the orginal recipe in the future they become classic recipes because they are just so yummy !
We use white wine, a bit of soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, fresh lemon juice, chopped garlic, chopped onion, fresh basil (American and Oriental). It makes a wonderful sauce. We serve it with baquette or Italian bread - everyone wants to dip it in the sauce, including my daughter who hates mussels. Sorry I can't give measurements but we never measure.
you put sausage in your traditional Good Friday dinner ???????
Did the skies open up????? Were you smote ... like my mum said I would be for this morrtal sin????
nah ... they didn't for me either . Twas the beginning of a slippery slide to debauchery and atheism .... enjoy the ride...
